How should I prepare for my massage?

Wear loose, comfortable clothing, and avoid eating a heavy meal in the two hours before your massage.

First time clients have a 15 minute consultation before the massage. Please allow extra time at the end of your first appointment to make sure you receive a full treatment. To conduct the consultation before your appointment by phone or video chat, get in touch at the time of booking.

If it emerges during the consultation that you suffer from a medical condition which is contraindicated to massage, I will offer you a full refund and refer you to an appropriate service.

I am unable to treat clients who are in their first trimester of pregnancy, have severe cold or flu, or are intoxicated.

How will I feel after my massage?

You may feel relaxed, drowsy or energetic, depending on the type of massage and your state on the day. Some clients experience muscle soreness in the 48 hours after a massage, particularly with deep tissue work.

It is important to take take it easy after your appointment. The advice below will help prolong the positive effects of the massage, and help minimise any fatigue or muscle aches.

  • Drink plenty of water to help your body recover from the effects of the massage.
  • Avoid alcohol or stimulants for at least 12 hours to help prevent dehydration, although prescription medication is ok.
  • Eat light meals for the next 24 hours so your body can focus on healing.
  • Relax! Try not to do anything too strenuous.

What health and safety measures have you put in place?

Hand sanitiser is provided throughout the premises, and all contacted surfaces are disinfected between clients. The treatment room is routinely aerated, and there is a HEPA filter operating in the room during your massage.

I am fully vaccinated, boosted and happy to take a lateral flow test the morning of your appointment if requested. Let me know if you would like me to wear a face covering during your appointment. (Updated 08/05/23)
